Fernanda Orpinelli Ramos do Rego
I received my PhD in Health Sciences and Bioinformatics from IEP-Sírio-Libanês Hospital and my thesis explored the relationship between transposable elements present in the tumor (colorectal cancer) genome and disease progression. Now, as a Postdoc, my project is to continue exploring that relationship as well as trying to estimate specific insights in cancer progression and retrocopies' functional role. My experience includes research project management, data analysis and interpretation, development and use of bioinformatics tools and programming in Perl and R. I'm self motivated, creative and I love learning. My specific fields of interest include: genomics, transposable elements, cancer and innovation.
