The Bioinformatics Laboratory at Molecular Oncology Center
The Galante lab is a Bioinformatics group based at the Instituto Sírio-Libanês de Ensino e Pesquisa, established in June 2011. Our primary goals are to investigate the impact of Mobile Elements and retrocopies on genomic variability and cancer, study gene expression dynamics to understand tumor progression, and develop advanced bioinformatics tools and computational algorithms to enhance genomic and transcriptomic data analysis.
Research
Research in biology and medicine has been greatly transformed in the last decade, specially by the generation, processing and analysis of large datasets.
Publications
We have published over 100 manuscripts under peer review. Feel free to check out our publications PubMed https://rb.gy/tiykrd
Opportunities
Currently, the group includes postdocs, PhD students, master's students, and undergraduates. Please send your CV if you are interested in working with us.
Members
The Galante group at the Instituto Sírio-Libanês de Ensino e Pesquisa (IEP) consists of 15 full-time members. Our students and members are trained in diverse areas, including biology, computational engineering, computer science, and molecular science. This diversity fosters a multidisciplinary environment where we engage deeply with various subjects related to computation, biology, and medicine, as well as the intersections of these areas. For more details, take a look at our Research page and the individual pages of each member
